A web-based CT dose calculator

DescriptionDescription

Procedure of dose calculation in WAZA-ARI system

  1. Measure CT source of each model

WAZA-ARI development group measured CT source of each model.
  2. Make CT Source data for calculation

WAZA-ARI development group make CT source data for Monte Carlo calculation.
  3. Calculate organ dose

WAZA-ARI development group calculated organ dose of CT slices using Monte Carlo code PHITS and voxel phantoms.
  4. Implement database in WAZA-ARI system

WAZA-ARI development group implemented organ dose database of CT models in WAZA-ARI system.
  5. Calculate organ dose at exposure condition

User inputs exposure condition (model, tube voltage, tube current, beam width, scan range, etc.) and click "calculate dose" button. Organ dose, effective dose and CTDI will be shown in results area.
  6. Register result

User registers calculation result as your facility's data.
  7. Statistical evaluation

User can statistically evaluate exposure dose of CT scans in your facility.

Selectable phantom

In WAZA-ARI v2, usrs can select the following phantoms for dose calculation.
The adult phantoms were built assuming average Japanese standard body type[1]. And the phantoms developed in the University of Florida were used as child phantom[2,3].
